HIV Testing Intervals for At-Risk Adults


CDC’s MMWR and Medscape are proud to introduce a new FREE continuing education (CE) activity that describes compliance with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for HIV infection screening among persons at increased risk, based on an analysis of 2006-2016 data from the General Social Survey (GSS).

Click or tap to follow this link.This activity is intended for family medicine practitioners, internists, obstetrician-gynecologists, infectious disease clinicians, pharmacists, public health officials, nurses, and other clinicians involved in HIV infection screening.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will
  1. Assess the percentage of adults who were ever tested for HIV infection and the interval since their last test, based on an analysis of General Social Survey data from 2006-2016
  2. Identify factors associated with compliance with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for HIV infection screening
  3. Determine the clinical implications of findings regarding decreased compliance with CDC recommendations for HIV infection screening
