Join SAMHSA’s Bringing Recovery Supports to Scale Technical Assistance Center Strategy (BRSS TACS) for a Recovery LIVE! virtual event and learn from national experts about services for people experiencing serious mental illness or substance use disorders who have recently had a personal and potentially life-threatening emergency. During this webinar, presenters will describe warm handoff programs, such as those in hospital emergency departments. Experts will also discuss interventions following a mental health crisis that may:

Streamline care.
Reduce risk of future emergencies.
Produce better outcomes in appropriate treatment and support services.

This event supports the critical activities of SAMHSA and the work of the Interdepartmental Serious Mental Illness Coordinating Committee (ISMICC), which was formed as a result of the 21st Century Cures Act. The ISMICC issued a seminal report in December of 2017 listing 45 recommendations, including a recommendation focused on crisis care (Recommendation 2.1). The goal of the ISMICC is to make progress towards improving the lives of individuals with serious mental illness and their families.
