This event supports the critical activities of SAMHSA and the work of the Interdepartmental Serious Mental Illness Coordinating Committee (ISMICC), which was formed as a result of the 21st Century Cures Act. The ISMICC issued a seminal report in December of 2017 listing 45 recommendations, including a recommendation focused on crisis care (Recommendation 2.1).
