In a special issue of the American Journal of Public Health, the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) presents 30 research strategies to chart a new course to advance minority health and health disparities research.
The special issue is the culmination of a 2-year NIMHD-led transdisciplinary science visioning process that bridged scientific disciplines to develop a coordinated research vision. The new research strategies are outlined within three essential areas that set the stage for the next generation of research in this field: methods and measurement, etiology, and interventions. The issue is introduced in a special editorial by NIMHD Director Dr. Eliseo Pérez-Stable and NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins.
