More Effort Is Needed To Ensure Patients Understand Doctors' Instructions

National Healthcare Quality and Disparities Report Data Spotlight: Health Literacy and the “Teach-Back” Method

The percentage of adults always asked to “teach back” their healthcare provider’s instructions in their own words rose from 24 percent in 2011 to 30 percent in 2015.
