Patients want drugs to be cheaper
That may not come as a shock, but the context is interesting: In a survey of patient groups, just 9% said the drug industry practiced fair pricing, which is the lowest number tracked in eight years.
That’s according to PatientView, a research firm that canvassed more than 1,500 patient groups from 78 countries. As STAT’s Ed Silverman reports, other scores — related to reputation and transparency — were low but roughly in line with years past.
Another stand-out figure is this: Just 46% of patient groups said that drug companies were “innovative,” which was a new low since the firm began tracking patient views in 2011.
