Halfway through the
Active & Healthy Challenge!
We are halfway there! This week marks the midpoint of the HHS Office of Minority Health’s Active & Healthy Challenge. Adding a little activity to your day can help put more bounce in your step and a smile on your face!
And teams can still sign up and count their physical activity to date. The goal throughout the Active & Healthy challenge is to help people live healthier lives through increased physical activity. Remember, little by little, gradually improve your step count and be sure to listen to your body.
The second edition of the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommends at least 150-300 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity each week with muscle-strengthening activities two or more days a week. Too busy for regular physical activity? Get stuff done and get active at the same time. Housework, gardening and even shopping all add up and count toward the challenge.
Keep it light, keep it lively and keep on moving!
