This four-page document describes the recommendations made by the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) on Immunization's for Ebola vaccination in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The recommendations include endorsing operational adjustments that make the vaccination process faster and adjusting the dosage based on available efficacy data. SAGE suggested expanding the population eligible for vaccination with rVSV-ZEBOV-GP, introducing an additional experimental vaccine, and redoubling ongoing efforts to train nurses, doctors, and medical students from Ebola-affected communities to work on vaccination teams. Source: United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC). Published: 5/2019. The product of extensive Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) technical consultations, this eight-page scale-up plan for protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) was unanimously endorsed by IASC Principals on December 3, 2018. Humanitarian Country Teams (HCTs) subsequently carried out a gap analysis to inform IASC members of current needs for effective implementation of PSEA interventions at country-level. It presents a call for collective action and investment by IASC members in all countries with Humanitarian Response Plans or Refugee Response Plans. (PDF)

In November 2018, an ad hoc planning committee at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine planned two workshops in Washington, DC, to examine the lessons from influenza pandemics and other major outbreaks, understand the extent to which the lessons have been learned, and discuss how they could be applied further to ensure that countries are sufficiently ready for future pandemics. These reports review accomplishments, highlight activities, and, over time, will assess metrics to determine how the program is progressing in accomplishing its goals. This 34-page 2018 annual report is the fifth report in the series. The Gulf Research Program seeks to enhance oil system safety and the protection of human health and the environment in the Gulf of Mexico region and other areas along the U.S. outer continental shelf with offshore oil and gas operations. The Inter-Agency Working Group and the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition, with several other agencies, have released this eight-page information brief on strengthening supply chains for sexual and reproductive health across the humanitarian-development continuum. It calls for governments, partners, and donors across the spectrum of humanitarian and development settings, including UN agencies and national and international NGOs, to improve sexual and reproductive health supply chains through collaborating to strengthen pre-crisis preparedness, and to transition after acute emergencies to more stable and uninterrupted supply chains.
