Inside STAT: Joe Biden may resurface a long-held dream: a White House laser-focused on cancer
In 2016, following the death of his son from cancer, Joe Biden chose to put aside a dream of a White House that makes cancer a top issue. But as he now embarks on a presidential run, that dream may still be realized. Much of the race so far has focused on health care, and Biden’s unique position as the nation’s “cancer-advocate-in-chief” could work in his favor. Already, through the work at the Biden Cancer Initiative, Biden and his wife, Jill, have fostered collaborations on various levels.
