This eight-page report, published with UCLouvain and the U.S. Agency for International Development, provides information and statistics about natural disasters in 2018, which was characterized by 315 natural disaster events recorded with 11,804 deaths, over 68 million people affected, and $131.7 billion in economic losses across the world. 2018 was a standout year for wildfires (10 events) and volcanic activity (7 events).
