People want to hear about health care at upcoming Democratic debates
Ahead of the first Democratic primary debates next week, a new pollshows that health care is at the top of the list of possible topics that Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents want to hear about. Here’s more from the survey:
- Debate topics: 87% want to hear about health care, followed closely by 80% who want to hear about issues affecting women.
- Health care priorities: More than a quarter say that lowering the amount that people pay for care is a top health issue, while nearly 20% say that increasing access to care is a priority.
- “Medicare for All”: A national health care plan has been a major issue among Democratic candidates, and the majority of respondents across party lines believe that they would continue to pay deductibles and copays under such a plan, even though the leading proposals eliminate these expenses.
