AHRQ Hiring New Scientific Director for the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's Center for Evidence and Practice Improvement (CEPI) (http://www.ahrq.gov/cpi/centers/cepi/index.html) has an exciting opportunity to join the Agency as the Scientific Director for the US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF). The Scientific Director for the USPSTF will set strategic direction for the Division, develop, execute and manage the Division budget, provide leadership and direction for AHRQ’s prevention activities, and be responsible for supervising a professional staff.

Candidates should have both clinical skills related to the delivery of preventive services in primary care settings, and research skills to oversee systematic reviews of the evidence supporting clinical preventive services. They will provide overall direction for the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force program and for prevention-related activities at the Agency. The Scientific Director will have a major impact on national recommendations for preventive services delivered in primary care settings and on the national agenda for health services research related to prevention.

Applicants should have a medical degree (MD/DO or equivalent) as well as experience managing, directing or leading scientific research studies relevant to the delivery of clinical preventive services.
