JUST RELEASED - FROM LAB TO LAUNCH:
A Case Study on Country Prioritization

Ever wonder how global health innovators and practitioners move from developing an idea to selecting an appropriate country for launch?

In this case study co-developed with USAID’s Center for Innovation and Impact (CII), scientists at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia describe a market analysis process to identify countries best suited for first launch of a new product – an inhaled form of oxytocin to prevent or treat postpartum hemorrhage. This analysis was supported through an award from Saving Lives at Birth: A Grand Challenge for Development. This case study adapts the steps in CII’s Ready, Set, Launch: A Country-Level Launch Planning Guide for Global Health Innovations for the Monash team’s own country prioritization exercise.

Country prioritization is an important step for innovators looking to introduce and scale their products or services. The case study and tools that the Monash team built, as well as the resources listed in the appendix, can serve as a guide for innovators on how they might approach a similar country prioritization process.

Download today to see how the Monash team learned important insights and lessons in real-time, such as developing a vision for success and impact pathway, shortlisting potential launch countries, and finalizing country selection with a blend of quantitative and qualitative analyses.  And read for inspiration about new approaches that you can employ when it comes to launching your innovation!

We’d like to thank the team at Monash University for co-authoring this case study with us and for sharing their impressive analysis and lived experience with other innovators and partners.
