This interim guidance is based on what is currently known about 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) and transmission of other viral respiratory infections. It is for people confirmed to have 2019-nCoV infection, who do not need to be hospitalized and who can receive care at home; people being evaluated by a healthcare provider for 2019-nCoV infection, who do not need to be hospitalized and who can receive care at home; caregivers and household members of a person confirmed to have, or being evaluated for, 2019-nCoV infection; and other people who have had close contact with a person confirmed to have, or being evaluated for, 2019-nCoV infection.
