Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases
NIAID seeks exceptional and motivated leaders to serve as physicians within the Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (DMID). DMID supports extramural research to control and prevent diseases caused by virtually all human infectious agents except HIV. The physicians will have a wide range of responsibilities relating to the oversight of a major extramural clinical research program in infectious diseases. Duties include development of clinical trial research concepts and protocols, oversight and coordination of active trials, data analysis and evaluation, and publication of results.
U.S. citizenship and an M.D. or D.O. is required. Board eligibility or board certification in adult or pediatric infectious diseases, internal medicine, or pediatrics is preferred. Candidates must have experience in clinical research in the treatment and/or prevention of infectious diseases.
