Attendance is free and you can register to attend the session virtually here. With welcoming remarks from Ramanan Laxminarayan, President of One Health Trust, join our authors as they present the Series' key findings and recommendations. The session will conclude with closing remarks from Richard Horton, Editor-in-Chief of The Lancet. Access to effective antibiotics is essential to every health system in the world, however, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) threatens this backbone of modern medicine. Through novel modelling data, this Series shows how stopping infections through improved vaccination and water and sanitation can not only prevent a significant proportion of deaths due to AMR, but also reduce the use of antibiotics to preserve its effectiveness. The Series also addresses how a rethink of drug development is needed to support investment in antibiotics, diagnostics, and vaccine development according to infection and AMR burden.
