Federal, State, and Local Mental Health Policy Interventions in Response to the Pediatric Mental Health Crisis following the COVID-19 Pandemic
A new journal article in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinics of North America describes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the pediatric mental health crisis in the U.S. and the federal, state, and local policy responses to support the crisis. The article is authored by SAMHSA staff members Billina R. Shaw, M.D., M.P.H., and Nikhil A. Patel, M.D., M.P.H., together with Michelle Durham, M.D., M.P.H., of the University of Houston Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine. It underscores the need for continued investments in pediatric mental health prevention and treatment to ensure a healthier future for our nation’s youth.
