Making Healthcare Safer (MHS) IV: Patient Monitoring Systems to Prevent Failure to Rescue: The purpose of this rapid review, we focus on electronic patient monitoring systems that scan patient data for signs of clinical deterioration in order to alert a clinician of a potential adverse condition. Such early warning systems generate a risk or deterioration score from multiple input parameters and may use artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning algorithms.
