Comparative Effectiveness of Medical Therapies for Locally Advanced Gastric Adenocarcinoma
Comparative Effectiveness of Medical Therapies for Locally Advanced Gastric Adenocarcinoma: This systematic review (SR) summarizes pertinent evidence on treatment for non-metastatic, locally advanced gastric adenocarcinoma (LAGC) to inform interest holders. This review will be used to inform a Clinical Practice Guideline by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) on this topic. Specifically, the SR aimed to 1) determine comparative effectiveness and harms of medical therapies and 2) determine how treatment effectiveness and harms vary by tumor-specific variables and patient-specific factors.
This systematic review (SR) aimed to evaluate the comparative effectiveness and harms of medical therapies for non-metastatic, locally advanced gastric adenocarcinoma to inform the development of an American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Clinical Practice Guideline. Specifically, the SR addressed (1) the comparative effectiveness and harms of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy, including their sequences and combinations, and whether treatment effectiveness and harms vary based on (2) tumor characteristics or (3) patient subpopulations.
