The purpose of this 16-page guidance is to assist sponsors in the clinical development of drugs for the treatment or prevention of smallpox (variola virus) infection. It revises the draft guidance for industry entitled Smallpox (Variola) Infection: Developing Drugs for Treatment or Prevention, issued on November 23, 2007. It focuses on drugs that are expected to act by inhibiting variola virus replication. Although the primary focus of this guidance is on antiviral drugs, therapeutic proteins or monoclonal antibodies also may be eligible for evaluation under the animal rule.

This series of maps examines one of the most significant public health risks posed by climate change: heat vulnerability. The maps can be used to discuss climate change impacts on public health with land planners, public health practitioners, medical professionals, and educators. A user can focus on a county of interest and identify key drivers of vulnerability as a starting point for planning and evaluation. The maps can also be used to engage the community and help improve preparedness ahead of heat events in the mid- and long-term.

This two-page fact sheet provides information about the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)'s Mass Care/Emergency Assistance (MC/EA) program, which deploys equipment, materials, supplies, and personnel to support state, local, tribal, and territorial governmental feeding services to evacuees, disaster survivors, and, in some cases, emergency workers. FEMA coordinates feeding activities with the American Red Cross, as well as with multiple other federal agencies, non-governmental organizations, and private sector agencies and organizations.
