Bullying has been recognized as an important factor to consider in health care work environments. Describing a novice nurse's experience with lateral violence, this commentary spotlights the importance of effective communication, uninterrupted supervision of new nurses, and a culture that supports clinicians who raise awareness of safety lapses.
