From the Director's Desk
Dear Partnership Center Friends:
I just returned from a busy trip to Orlando where I met with a diverse group of faith-based and community partners — all of whom were eager to learn ways to leverage federal knowledge and resources in addressing the opioid crisis in their areas. The discussion routinely turned to prevention. How do we best prepare and protect our children from the lures of drugs and risky behaviors? And how can we promote resilience into their lives?
I was delighted to share with them — and now you — about our three-part summer webinar series, which is wholly prevention focused. Regardless of your age or occupation, these webinars are sure to expand your understanding of how the brain works, how adverse childhood experiences can impact a child's life trajectory, and how we all can build resiliency factors into the youth in our care. Registration information can be found below. In a time of uncertainty and angst, there is one thing we can all agree on: Our children need our protection. And now science underscores this innate instinct. That said, please consider sharing this content with friends, colleagues and neighbors. For up-to-the-minute content, be sure to connect with us on Twitter® and Facebook®. We also have a library of webinars on our YouTube® channel, as well and our Opioid Epidemic Practical Toolkit to share with members in your spheres of influence. And, as always, thank you for your continued partnership. If we can ever be of assistance, please contact us at Partnerships@HHS.gov or call us at (202) 358-3595. Warmly, Director |
