CDC Marks Antibiotic Awareness Week

A major factor contributing to the emergence of antibiotic resistance is the inappropriate use of antibiotics, which are among the most frequently prescribed medicines for people and animals. CDC is participating in U.S. Antibiotic Awareness Week Nov. 12-16, and World Antibiotic Awareness Day on Nov. 15.
Learn about antibiotic resistance  in foodborne illness and challenges in food safety, and share CDC’s Be Antibiotics Aware materials to help improve use of antibiotics and combat antibiotic resistance.
