This 252-page report asks challenging questions of affected states, admittedly overburdened donors, and local and international humanitarian organizations about the millions of people living in crisis who are not receiving the humanitarian assistance they desperately need. It includes a strong call for more, better, and more equitable funding and action to meet rising needs. It identifies five mistakes that can lead to international humanitarian actors inadvertently leaving people behind, and includes clear and compelling recommendations to overcome these structural problems. It provides a scientifically based understanding of the potential environmental releases and exposure pathways for various treatments and disposal options, and identifies and critically evaluates the potential relative contribution of specific exposure pathways based on chemicals of concern, site settings, and steps in carcass management processes.
