Electronic Clinical Quality Measure (eCQM) Clinical Quality Language (CQL) Basics Webinar: Eligible Clinicians for the 2019 Performance Period

Tuesday, November 27, 2018 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM EST
This one-hour session will provide a high-level introduction to the CQL logic expression language. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) will move from the previous quality data model (QDM) logic expression language to CQL for the 2019 performance period. This session (offered in cooperation with CMS support contractors Mathematica and ESAC) will provide an introduction regarding CQL expression language. As a result of the feedback received from stakeholders interviewed through the CMS eCQM Strategy Project to reduce implementation and reporting burdens, this session is intended to prepare eligible clinicians, vendors, quality, and health information technology staff for this transition, and is the first in a series of five educational sessions that will continue into 2019 to provide relevant information to ensure successful reporting of eCQMs.
At the end of this CQL Basics session, participants will be able to:
  • Understand what CQL logic eCQM expression language is, and why it is important for eCQMs
  • Identify how CQL will be used in the eCQMs for the 2019 performance period for eligible clinicians and eligible professionals
  • Know where to find additional resources and ask questions about eCQMs and CQL
