CDC has announced a funding opportunity for state and territorial “ambassadors” for its Learn the Signs. Act Early. Program. The program aims to improve early identification of developmental delays and disabilities, including autism, by promoting parent-engaged developmental monitoring (regularly tracking milestones) so children and their families can get the services and support they need as early as possible.
Act Early ambassadors work to—
- Promote resources and materials that support developmental monitoring in systems that serve young children and their families
- Serve as state or territorial representatives of the program
- Support the work of Act Early teams and other state or territorial or national initiatives
There are 42 available “ambassadorships” for selected states and territories. Find out if your state or territory is eligible and apply for the program!

Applications are due January 18, 2019.
