On October 21, 2018, the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services renewed the determination that a “public health emergency” exists as a result of the opioid crisis. Source: Enhancing Learning and Research for Humanitarian Assistance (ELRHA). Published: 5/30/2018. In response to the Ebola epidemic in West Africa in 2014, Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises (R2HC) launched an emergency call for short-term research in August 2014. The intention was to fund robust research designed to contribute to the effectiveness of the outbreak response and to draw lessons for dealing with future outbreaks of Ebola and other communicable diseases. This 19-page document describes the key research findings and associated products or publications for each of the studies. (PDF)
