Understanding Medicare (CEU) Webinars

January 15 & 16, 2019   1:00 p.m. ET
These interactive training webinars are stand-alone events covering the basics of the Medicare Program. Attendance on both days isn’t required, and space is limited. The number of continuing education units (CEUs) you can earn for Day 1 is 0.2 (2 hours) and your certificate is available as soon as you complete all the requirements. The second day of training is a pilot webinar. The exact number of CEUs you can earn for Day 2 won’t be determined until the conclusion of the course. You’ll receive CEUs for each day that you attend the training and complete all of the course requirements. Your certificate for Day 2 will be available approximately 7 days after completing all of the requirements, and it will display the appropriate number of CEUs. A description of the requirements to earn CEUs for these training events can be found on the registration page for each webinar.
Topics for each day include:
Day 1—Explains Medicare enrollment and eligibility, the roles and responsibilities of the agencies responsible for Medicare, cost and coverage under Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Part B (Medical Insurance), why enrolling on time is important, an overview of Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) policies, and the basics of Medicare prescription drug coverage (Part D).
To register for the Day 1 webinar, visit CMSnationaltrainingprogram.cms.gov/moodle/course/view.php?id=37.
Day 2—Explains Medicare Advantage Plans; coordination of benefits; how to detect and report suspected Medicare fraud, waste, and abuse; and different resources to help you find answers to Medicare policy and coverage questions.
