Postdoctoral intramural research training award (IRTA)

Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML)

Postdoctoral IRTA position is open in the Biology of Vector-Borne Viruses Section within the Laboratory of Virology at the RML campus of NIAID in Hamilton, MT. The successful applicant will be part of a team focused on understanding how tickborne viruses interact with both arthropod and mammalian hosts and how these interactions influence viral persistence and pathogenesis as well as the maintenance of virus in reservoir hosts.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D., D.V.M., or M.D. in virology, molecular biology, or other appropriate discipline and have less than three years of postdoctoral experience. Well-developed oral and written communication skills are essential. Highly motivated candidates with a strong background in molecular biology, virology, genomics, computational biology, structural biology, entomology, and infectious disease animal modeling are encouraged to apply. Experience working in high biological containment laboratories (BSL-3) and experience working with tickborne pathogens would be an advantage.
