FDA’s two-day science forum will delve into AI, precision medicine

The FDA is holding a two-day forum for the public to learn about the scientific research being conducted at the agency. The event, today and tomorrow, will feature the agency’s work in eight different areas, including precision medicine, AI and emergency preparedness, and how research is used to make regulatory decisions. The different tracks also include discussion of hot-button issues including gene editing, the use of personal health data to develop diagnostics, and sex and gender differences in medicine. Several key government scientists are scheduled to speak at the biannual forum, including acting FDA commissioner Dr. Ned Sharpless and the NIH’s director, Dr. Francis Collins. Interested folks can register to attend in person or view the webcast here.
