The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has developed Common Formats for event reporting– Nursing Home Version 1.0 (formerly Common Formats for Nursing Home Version 0.1 beta). Nursing Home Version 1.0 has been updated and is derived from experience gained with and public input from Common Formats for Nursing Home Version 0.1 beta. They will facilitate improved detection and understanding of adverse patient/resident safety events originating in nursing homes. Common Formats for Event Reporting - Nursing Home Version 1.0 including event descriptions, sample reports, algorithms and technical specifications are now available for both generic and event-specific categories. Event-specific Common Formats pertain to frequently occurring and/or serious patient/resident safety concerns. Event-specific Common Formats add specific, objective detail regarding these event categories. The event-specific categories for nursing home included in this version are Device or Medical/Surgical Supply, including Health Information Technology, Fall, Pressure Ulcer (pressure injury), and Medication or Other Substance. A Users Guide and Quick Guide are also available.
