Source: Global Consortium for Chemosensory Research (GCCR). Published: 2020. The Global Consortium for Chemosensory Research COVID-19 Survey (GCCR) is about how COVID-19 or other upper respiratory illnesses affect taste, smell, and chemesthesis (e.g., burn of chili peppers). The questionnaire is deployed in 21 languages and data collection is ongoing. The Questionnaire was created by the Global Consortium for Chemosensory Research which has more than >500 members in more than 50 countries. Preliminary testing of these items was conducted by an expert review and other validation efforts (e.g., the comparison of these questionnaire results to laboratory-based methods of measuring smell loss) are ongoing.
