Update to NIAID COVID-19 Funding Opportunities

After August 14, 2020, NIAID will no longer accept applications for a pair of emergency funding opportunity announcements (FOAs) we issued in late April encouraging R01 (PAR-20-178) and R21 (PAR-20-177) applications for rapid investigation research projects on SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19.

NIAID continues to prioritize SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 research. If you are preparing an application and cannot meet the August 14, 2020 deadline, NIAID encourages you to submit your application to the R01 or R21 parent FOA instead:

NIH Exploratory/Developmental Research Grant Program (Parent R21, Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

Request for Help With Peer Review

NIAID's Scientific Review Program is still looking for experts to serve as peer reviewers to evaluate grant applications and contract proposals for SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19, especially in the research fields of diagnostics, therapeutics, and viral pathogenesis.
