Promoting Organizational Health Literacy
A new AHRQ Views blog post highlights the Agency’s 
longstanding commitment to organizational health literacy – 
defined by Healthy People 2030 as the degree to which 
organizations equitably enable individuals to find, 
understand, and use information and services to inform 
health-related decisions and actions for themselves and others.
The blog post encourages researchers to submit 
applications to study organizational health literacy in 
response to a recently published AHRQ Special Emphasis Notice
and to use AHRQ’s many health literacy tools that help 
providers implement organizational health literacy strategies.

systems with each of 10 attributes of health literate 
healthcare organizations
