The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is having a workshop on September 10 – 12, 2024 being held both in-person at the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence in Rockville, MD, and online. The purpose of this workshop is to assess the present state-of-the-art of sensors and supporting infrastructure used to measure and quantify the local, regional, and global state of the environment and how it is changing in time and in response to natural and anthropogenic forcings.
Additionally, NIST is seeking information on what new measurement technologies, testbeds, measurement comparisons, calibration services, Standard Reference Materials (SRMs), and documentary standards are needed to advance the breadth, accuracy, continuity, and comparability of environmental measurements. The agenda will feature talks by the following speakers:

Ken Davis, Penn State University
