But progress on global health gender justice is unsatisfactory. Confusions and contestations around gender and gender equality profoundly affect how gender gets inadequately addressed in global health policies, programmes, and practices. This Commission aimed to identify ways in which health practitioners, policy makers, health researchers, and civil society could use more inclusive understandings of gender to improve policy and programme effectiveness and to achieve gender justice.
