New This Week on HealthIT.gov

On HealthIT.gov this week, we posted lots of new data and information that you might find useful.

ONC's Office of Economic Analysis, Evaluation and Modeling posted new case studies highlighting the efforts five states have made to build out health information exchange (HIE), including an important milestone for Wisconsin: 90 percent of doctors are writing scripts via #eRx http://www.healthit.gov/policy-researchers-implementers/reports

The studies profile the governance structures, technical services, and privacy and security frameworks that are being used in each state, as well as stakeholder priorities to exchange patient data via HIE.
The reports list the lessons learned, key enablers, but also the challenges states encountered. The hope is that others pursuing information exchange initiatives may benefit from the HIE experience of the five states and that will help to scale up the flow of data.

So what is Health Information Exchange and how does it impact my practice?  Find resources and learn more about HIE, the benefits, and how to get started on the following pages:
Dashboards and #eRx

ONC's Health IT Adoption and Use Dashboard was updated with more maps, charts, and data useful for monitoring the adoption of e-prescribing technologies by pharmacies and physicians. The new Health Information Exchange: E-Prescribing Dashboard also includes ONC’s state-level e-prescribing goals and participants in the State Health Information Exchange Cooperative Agreement Program
