Unprofessional and disruptive physician behavior can compromise safety culture and has been associated with adverse events. Researchers retrospectively reviewed events involving disrespectful provider behavior at a single academic medical center. Male physicians and those in procedural specialties were more likely to be involved in an event involving unprofessional behavior.
