The role of education in developing a culture of safety through the perceptions of undergraduate nursing students: an integrative literature review.
Undergraduate exposure to safety culture behaviors supports development of safety-related knowledge and attitudes. This review examined the evidence on how patient safety education in undergraduate nursing students influences safety culture. Researchers found that nursing students consider a patient safety education important, but they don't feel empowered to raise concerns or have a full understanding of their role in medical error reduction.
