Alums of The Onion find a new target to parody — genetic testing

At first glance, a new website called DNA Friend looks a lot like the many genetic testing sites making their pitch to consumers. It's only when you start reading closely (DNA Friend claims to test for reverse balding and Oprah's seal of approval, among other conditions), that the parody becomes apparent.

And that, of course, is the point. DNA Friend is a project from a new satirical media company called Thud, The Atlantic reports. Elon Musk, of all people, had helped Thud get off the ground, but he no longer has a formal relationship with the company after selling it to two former editors of the satire site The Onion at the start of this year.

At any rate, the DNA jokes aren't half bad.
