Democrats torn on drug pricing approach

Speaking of drug pricing, there’s an internal tussle among Democrats on Capitol Hill over how best to lower drug prices. The party’s progressive faction is feuding — publicly at times — with the more pragmatic arm, disagreeing on whether to negotiate with the Trump administration or pursue a bolder agenda.

“I think everyone kind of thinks their idea is the best one,” Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.) told STAT. “There’s disagreement, maybe, about the best way to achieve the objective, [but] there’s absolute consensus that we have got to address this issue.”
