Attendees of the 10th annual meeting of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) were encouraged to unleash the unique power of their institutions to enhance the translation and implementation of knowledge so the world’s underserved can benefit.
NIH and Fogarty representatives participated in sessions on HIV-related implementation science, global mental health initiatives concerning children, maintaining quality of care during implementation, corruption in the health sector, early-career research training and mentoring.
During the meeting, Dr. Ken Bridbord and Dr. King Holmes were presented with the CUGH 2019 Distinguished Leadership Award, the organization’s highest honor.

The evaluation and the latest Fogarty funding opportunities for NCD research training programs come at a critical time. Heart disease, cancer, diabetes and other NCDs disproportionately affect people in poorer countries.
