Teaching novice clinicians how to reduce diagnostic waste and errors by applying the Toyota Production System.

The Toyota Production System was designed to support reliable processes that improve value and reduce delays, overuse, and cost. This article describes an initiative to integrate principles of the Toyota Production System into an educational program for improving diagnosis and patient management.
