A simulation-based approach to training in heuristic clinical decision-making.

This simulation study of diagnostic cognition found that medical trainees and attending physicians working in pairs usually exhibited some cognitive bias. The majority were able to identify and recover from the bias, suggesting that simulation may be a promising approach to enhance diagnostic cognition.
