A new approach of assessing patient safety aspects in routine practice using the example of "doctors handwritten prescriptions."
In this study, researchers examined the impact of both self and external assessment of handwritten prescriptions across 58 surgical and medical wards in Austria. Feedback from the external assessment was provided, along with targeted training to wards deemed to be performing poorly. Researchers found that the intervention improved the quality of handwritten prescriptions.
