The World Health Organization Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, declared the Ebola virus disease (EVD) outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). The declaration was made following a meeting of the International Health Regulations (2005) Emergency Committee for Ebola virus disease in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on 17 July 2019, and includes advice for affected countries, neighboring countries, and all states.
In response to the declaration, the Ebola Outbreak 2018 - present Health Information Guide is now available from the U.S. National Library of Medicine. The resources on this page may be of value to international and local organizations and individuals providing Ebola outbreak-related services in the DRC, as well as friends and family of people in the affected region.
