Kronos raises $100 million-plus
Are $100 million venture capital rounds becoming the new norm? Maybe not, but they’re definitely becoming more common.
Kronos Bio, a bicoastal startup that is announcing a $105 million round this morning, was initially looking for only $50 million to keep moving on its oncology drug discovery programs and keep the lights on for the next two years. But when the company went to old and new investors, it found more money than it was expecting.
Still, as Kronos CEO Norbert Bischofberger explained to STAT's Kate Sheridan, while the markets are good, there’s no guarantee that will last.
