Speaking up about safety hazards is a critical component of strong safety culture. Although most of the nurses in this convenience sample reported speaking up about safety issues, nearly 10% did not do so because they feared retaliation. A recent WebM&M commentarydescribed how leaders can encourage and reward speaking up.
