Think of it like a high-tech version of following a pencil with your eyes: Scientists have engineered a wearable electronic patch that can adhere to the contours of the face and, when combined with a virtual reality system, can track eye movement in hopes of diagnosing eye disorders. The researchers note that ocular disorders are on the rise because of smartphone use, and that the system could provide an easier way to test whether the eyes are not aligning. The system could also be used to deliver therapeutic programs.
