AHRQ Distance Learning on Informed Consent Available

AHRQ Modules to Improve Informed Consent

As medical schools move to distance learning, AHRQ wants to remind the healthcare community of training modules designed to improve the informed consent process. "Making Informed Consent an Informed Choice: Training Module for Professionals” teaches clinicians a set of strategies to communicate clearly, present choices, and confirm and document informed consent.
The module is offered through the Joint Commission’s learning management system (LMS) for continuing medical education credit (CME) at no cost to Joint Commission members. Organizations that do not participate in Joint Commission accreditation may email healthliteracy@ahrq.hhs.gov to obtain the module from AHRQ at no cost to run on their own learning management systems.
Information about accessing the Health Care Professionals module, as well as a second module for hospital executives and a guide to implementing the modules, is available from the AHRQ website at: https://www.ahrq.gov/professionals/systems/hospital/informedchoice/index.html.
