effective health care program - helping you make better treatment choices

Opportunity to Comment on Draft Report

We encourage the public to participate in the development of our research projects. Comments can be submitted for:
Interventions for Dyspnea in Patients with Advanced Cancer
Available for comment until May 4, 2020
The purpose of the review is to compare the benefits and harms of non-pharmacological and pharmacological interventions for management of dyspnea in adults with advanced cancer. Dyspnea, defined as difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, is frequent in advanced cancer and often debilitating.
The objective of the review is to understand the evidence base for care interventions for people with dementia (PWD) and their caregivers, and to assess the potential for broad dissemination and implementation of that evidence.

Opportunity to Submit Scientific Information

The Effective Health Care (EHC) Program is interested in receiving supplemental evidence and data (SEADs) for systematic reviews that are relevant to the questions in our evidence reports. To ensure that it has full access to relevant research, whether or not it is published, the EHC Program is interested in receiving SEADs containing detailed study-specific information. Opportunities to submit scientific information are available for:
Platelet-rich Plasma for Wound Care in the Medicare Population
Available for submission until April 22, 2020
This review will evaluate the overall effectiveness of treatment of diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, and venous ulcers with PRP, as well as the impact of PRP content, carriers, dosage, frequency and duration of application.
